4x + 2[4 - 2(x + 2) ] = 2x - 4

4x + 2[4 - 2x - 4 ] = 2x - 4

4x + 2[-2x] = 2x - 4

4x - 4x = 2x - 4

0 = 2x - 4

2x = 4

x = 2
