1. rearrange equation(step only used when necessary)
-> 2x-x-12=y, y= x+3 ( I subtracted the Y from both sides and then divided everything by -1 to get rid of the number.

2. then you can solve with the equations equaling each other
-> 2x-x-12=x+3
