Here is the formula for finding slope:

y₂ - y₁
x
₂ - x₁

OR

difference in y
difference in x
_______________________________________________________

y₂ = 8
y₁ = 10

8 - 10 = -2

x₂ = 5
x₁ = 2

5 - 2 = 3

That equals: -2/3
